Alleged car thief leads police through Zion in wild chase

A wild and meandering police chase took a turn through Zion National Park on Tuesday evening as authorities were pursuing an alleged car thief who led them across two counties before finally being caught. Police officers in Kanab, Utah, responded to reports of a car theft just before 7 p.m. and found the black Mitsubishi Lancer traveling north on U.S. 89. Police tried to stop the vehicle, but the driver did not comply, continuing down the highway until he turned west on state Route 9 into Zion National Park.
