Interior-EPA minibus carries riders through House

The House today passed a minibus spending bill that contains funds for the Interior Department and EPA with no support from Democrats, who opposed the measure en masse over the inclusion of multiple policy riders. Lawmakers voted 217-199 for the bill, H.R. 6147. which contains the $35 billion Interior-Environment spending bill as well as the Financial Services-General Government bill. House Appropriations Chairman Rodney Frelinghuysen (R-N.J.) touted the bill's funding for "vital programs across the federal government, including those that make Americans safer, protect our nation's resources, and create jobs, especially in America's small businesses." His statement singled out funds for water infrastructure and wildfires, while lauding the push to "rein in harmful regulations" at EPA.
