The roof rack assembly is intended for fitting to the roof of a car or a minibus particularly to carry surf boards or sail boards. It comprises a main frame which is secured to the roof and a second frame which is releasably securable and lockable to the main frame and has locating means for the boards and wheels at the rear to facilitate moving it to the water side. When not in use, the second frame can be suspended on hooks on a garage wall. The fig. shows the rear end of the second frame with rubber-covered supports (8) for the boards and facility (6) for stowing sail board masts. FL.
