John Tahsuda, a top Indian affairs official under Interior Secretary David Bernhardt, has returned to his former post at the lobbying firm Navigators Global. Tahsuda, a member of the Kiowa Tribe of Oklahoma, joined the Trump administration in 2017 as principal deputy assistant secretary for Indian affairs, spending more than two years in the post. He went on to become senior counselor to Bernhardt in late 2019, holding that post through the end of the administration (Greenwire, Sept. 4, 2019). "I made law enforcement a priority," Tahsuda told Global Gaming Business Magazine when asked about his accomplishments in a video interview published Sunday. Tahsuda touted the work of the Interior Department's Opioid Reduction Task Force in particular (Greenwire, May 31, 2018).
