Agency renews E&E News subscription

EPA has renewed its subscription to E&E News, the agency announced to staff today. "We are pleased to share that E&E News, the news organization that publishes Energywire, Climatewire, E&E Daily, Greenwire, and E&E News PM, has returned to the EPA Desktop Library as a publication resource," acting Administrator Jane Nishida and Chief of Staff Dan Utech told EPA employees in an internal email obtained by E&E News. Last July, the agency canceled the desktop subscription to the news organization's various publications. An EPA spokesman at the time said it could invest the money used for the subscription elsewhere in "other higher priority areas" (Greenwire, July 31, 2020). Employees at the agency have said they were frustrated with the subscription's being revoked. EPA had been a subscriber to E&E News stretching back to 1988, when it was known as the Environment and Energy Weekly Bulletin. Nishida and Utech said they were aware of staffers' worries over not having access to E&E News.
