July was Alaska's warmest month on record

Last month was the warmest in Alaska history, NOAA said today. The state had an average temperature of 58.1 degrees Fahrenheit in July, 0.8 degrees over its standing record, which hadn't been surpassed since July 2004. The new record-setting temperature was also a full 5.4 degrees above the state's average July temperatures, said NOAA.
