Chao calls breakdown of talks 'disappointing'

Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao today cal ed it"disappointing"that infrastructure talks between Congress and the White House broke down earlier this year. "The president's always said that he wanted a bipartisan ef ort in addressing the deteriorating infrastructure conditions of our country,"Chao said at a Heritage Foundation event. "There was high hopes that this could be a bipartisan ef ort. But clearly, it's been disappointing that the administration put forward its proposal last year"and a deal has stil not been reached, she said.
