Gately Williams/College of Charleston The Bureau of Land Management has chosen a longtime career official to take over as acting assistant director for energy, minerals and realty management, a position that helps implement the administration's energy policies. Mitchell Leverette, the chief of BLM's Division of Solid Minerals, is replacing Mike Nedd, who was promoted to deputy director of operations, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the bureau's nearly 10,000 employees (Greenwire, Feb. 22).
