Parts of western Missouri saw minor damage from two weak tornadoes, as well as a rare phenomenon of twostorms moving in opposite directions that collided around Kansas City.The National Weather Service confirmed a tornado early yesterday morning with peak winds of 80 mph that cutan almost 2-mile path near Archie, south of Kansas City. Another tornado hit Wednesday night east of KansasCity with top winds of 85 mph. It stayed on the ground for 6 miles, from Blue Springs Lake to near Lake Lotawana.Trees and power lines in and around Kansas City also were knocked down when a west-moving storm collidedwith an east-moving storm around 2 a.m. yesterday, the weather service said.
