Obama official jumps to think tank's climate program

The former chief economist at the Commerce Department has headed to the climate change program at centerleft think tank Third Way. Ellen Hughes-Cromwick, who worked at Commerce under the Obama administration, started Oct. 1 as a senior fellow in Third Way's climate and clean energy program, the group announced today. "Energy touches every part of our economy. We need to truly maximize the economic opportunities and understand how to address the challenges that will emerge as we move to net-zero carbon emissions in every sector, state, and region," Josh Freed, senior vice president of the climate and energy program, said in a statement announcing Hughes-Cromwick's hiring.
