Fire-protection blankets can help safeguard homes and buildings from short-term wildfire exposure, according to a new study. The research, published today in the journal Frontiers in Mechanical Engineering, examines the use of structure wraps to protect buildings in the wildland-urban interface, areas where homes and wildlands meet. "I want to contribute to reducing the damage from wildfires," said Fumiaki Takahashi, the author of the study and a professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Case Western Reserve University.
