Motorists on the M6 might catch a couple of giant wind turbines out of the corner of their eye, if plans go ahead to construct two 2.3MW machines at Lancaster University's Hazelrigg site early next year.rnThe wind power project is one of three initiatives this year to receive a slice of the Revolving Green Fund, which was set up by the Higher Education Funding Council of England. Run in partnership with Salix Finance, the scheme is awarding £10 million to the trio, and another £20 million to smaller projects at around 40 other higher education institutes - which will need to provide match funding.
