National Academies Team to Study FCC Ligado Decision

The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine have proposed a team to examine the analysis and decision-making process by the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the matter of Ligado Networks. The April 2020 decision by the FCC to allow Ligado to go forward with its broadband network - potentially causing interference with GPS signals - has generated significant controversy and opposition within the public and Congress.
