Three Years of Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) in the EU

The Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) status has been introduced in the European Union (EU) in January 2008. Three years of application of these new rules have passed. In this time span, about 5,000 economic operators have received an AEO certificate (either type F - Full, type S - Security, or type C - Customs). This article shows the acceptance and developments of the AEO certificate in the Member States of the EU-27.
