Manufacturers all over Asia are boosting their production capacities. Optimistic of the market performance this year, suppliers are also improving their products, making them suitable for wireless applications, particularly in mobile phones, PDAs, notebook PCs and other portable devices. Mainland China's diode industry is propelled by about 300 makers, mainly located in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Guangdong and Shanghai. The region's industry has been registering a steady year-on-year growth of about 15 to 20 percent, owing to the growing demand from the telecommunications industry. At present, makers are confident the market growth will continue this year.
