DVD players, home theaters boost interest in HDMI connectors

Surging demand from the digital electronics devices sector is attracting more companies into HDMI connector production. Another come-on is the DVI to HDMI trend in home A/V entertainment. Mainland China has 20 to 30 companies making HDMI connectors. Digitalization in the communications sector is attracting more makers into the line. In Taiwan, HDMI connector suppliers anticipate that more A/V equipment manufacturers will need the HDMI connector cables as an accessory. There are about 20 makers in the line, but industry experts predict the number will rise to 40 or more this year.
