AUO, Wintek revenues boost Taiwan's LCD panel segment

The LCD panel industry inTaiwan is poised for further growth, on the heels of announcements of increased revenues for Q3 2007 by leading local makers AU Optronics Corp. (AUO) and Wintek Corp. AUO, one of the world's biggest LCD panel makers, announced $1.65 million in consolidated revenues in September 2007, a record 92.6 percent y-o-y increase. Small- and medium-sized panel shipments reached 40.7 million units in Q3 2007, increasing 26.3 percent on-quarter. Small- and medium-sized panel shipments registered 95.7 percent growth y-o-y.
