Major US operators are aiming for different 5G goals

Among US mobile operators, as of May 2018, AT&T has plans to be first to launch mobile 5G, via a hotspot strategy in a few cities this year, while Verizon will launch pre-standard fixed wireless 5G in a few cities in 2018 as well. Sprint and T-Mobile have the most detailed plans for mobile 5G networks. Sprint plans to have a nationwide mobile 5G network in place, using its 2.5GHz spectrum, by early 2019. T-Mobile will also be an early 5G adopter, planning a nationwide 5G mobile network over its 600MHz spectrum; deployment is set to begin in 2019 and be nationwide by 2020.
