MCS are guidance systems consisting of integrated technologies, including positioning systems, usually based on Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) and/or robotic total-stations and other sensors, such as gyro-compasses, line and rotating lasers, ultrasonic sensors and inclinometers. Using onboard computers and specialised software, the systems allow digital design of a projected new situation in order to control and monitor heavy machines.
