DOE TO PROVIDE $37.5M TO FUND CLEAN ENERGY RESEARCH EFFORT WITH CHINA

The Department of Energy will provide $37.5 million to fund a joint U.S.-China clean energy research effort, a portion of which will be used to support technological advancements in carbon capture and sequestration, Secretary of Energy Steven Chu said last week. The funds would be distributed over the course of five years to the U.S. China Clean Energy Research Center (CERC), and China would provide an additional $75 million in funding, Chu said in a March 29 statement.
