Chinese President Hu Jintao arrived in Washington for a state visit this week with his country's pocketbook in tow. In between closed-door meetings with President Barack Obama, Congressional leaders and industry officials, Hu's trip lead to the finalizing of more than $45 billion worth of new business deals between U.S. companies and China, nearly two thirds of which involved clean technology and energy efficiency. Big winners included Alcoa, Duke Energy and General Electric, who said they will work to advance technologies such as wind power, carbon capture and sequestration and "cleaner coal."
