A new report released this week by the Center for Climate and Energy Solutions compiles what it says is the first-ever greenhouse gas emissions accounting mechanism for carbon capture and storage projects that considers the technology's full process value chain. Head authors Mike McCormick and Janet Peace said in an interview with GHG this week that the goal of the report is to help shape a common standard for CO_2 emissions accounting from CCS projects, a requirement that is expected from regulators once the technology is commercialized.
