摘要

A truly three-dimensional back-analysis of the construction sequence of three diaphragm wall panels installed in stiff Gault Clay has been con- ducted using a finite difference programme. The current analysis confirms the roles of two stress transfer mechanisms: the horizontal arching and downward load transfer mechanisms during dia- phragm wall installation, which were initially iden- tified by Ng et al.(1995)from their pseudo three- dimensional analysis.
