2006 GIROUD LECTUREnThis issue marks the end of our fifteenth year as anninternational technical journal devoted to geosynthetics,nand our sixth year in an electronic format. We arendelighted to complete this 2008 volume of the journalnwith publication of the 2006 Giroud Lecture by C. R.nLawson, titled ‘Geotextile containment for hydraulic andnenvironmental engineering’. Publication of the 2006 GiroudnLecture continues a tradition established in 2005 withnthe Special Issue on the Giroud Lectures (Vol. 12, No. 1)ncontaining updated versions of the first three GiroudnLectures.
