2006 GIROUD LECTUREThis issue marks the end of our fifteenth year as aninternational technical journal devoted to geosynthetics,and our sixth year in an electronic format. We aredelighted to complete this 2008 volume of the journalwith publication of the 2006 Giroud Lecture by C. R.Lawson, titled ‘Geotextile containment for hydraulic andenvironmental engineering’. Publication of the 2006 GiroudLecture continues a tradition established in 2005 withthe Special Issue on the Giroud Lectures (Vol. 12, No. 1)containing updated versions of the first three GiroudLectures.
