Examining the World's Demand for Oil Now and in the Future: Implications for Western Canada

Future markets for Western Canada's oil and gas resources depend fundamentally on the evolution of regional energy demand levels and the mix of fuels chosen by consumers influenced in a variety of ways by governments and corporate relationships. To the extent consumers are the prime determinants of how much of which energy sources gets chosen, relative prices of both energy-using equipment and fuel inputs are critical factors.
