Canadian Energy Politics and Canada-US Relations, 1970-2012

Quite obviously the politics of Canadian energy policy and ancillary mega-projects have heated up in the last few years. However, the heat from political contestation has rarely been very productive particularly on the matter of delivering oil and natural gas to North American markets. Cool politics often characterizes the discovery and development phases of oil and gas, but then the pipelines to consumers become hot and the obstructions begin.
