The Energy Policy Outlook Under President Trump

Energy played a considerable role in Donald Trump's surprising US Presidential victory. During the campaign, Trump's positions on energy issues were often diametrically opposed to the views of his Democratic challenger, Hillary Clinton. Now that he's President-elect, what is ahead for America's energy policy? Although much is still in flux, it's safe to say that, in broad terms, policy will shift from the direction taken by President Obama and which would have likely continued under Clinton: "decarbonization" will now take a back seat to fossil fuel development and related efforts to increase US economic growth.
