This fine volume is the third of a series published by these two authors; Volume II, which I reviewed in TLE a few years ago, featured K. L. Larner as a third author. As is true of the earlier two volumes, this is a work of dedication to our science. The theory is developed in the minutest and most painstaking detail from the ground up; as such, the books are ideally suited both for the beginner as well as for those undertaking research in particular fields.
