Matthew Zook's book, The Geography of the Internet Industry, is a volume much bigger and more significant than its title would suggest. It is a book that deserves to be read widely in economic geography, and more broadly in disciplines that are attempting to develop understandings of local and regional economic development. Dealing as it does with knowledge, networks and innovation, it is a book for both politicians and policy makers who are currently transfixed by the knowledge economy, technological change and innovation, cultural industries, clusters and e-business as levers to pull to help regions and places to cope and grow in the face of faceless globalisation.
