The following account underlines the importance of appropriate cleaning at all stages in the manufacturing process. The process in this case involves a welding operation. The lesson to be learned is that it is important to understand not only the rationale behind a given assembly step but also to fully understand the functional requirements of the finished product. Medical air is defined as a filtered air supply produced (or conditioned) on-site in hospitals and dental surgeries for delivery to areas where it may be inhaled by patients.
