Communications futures

摘要

The connection of communication with futures is doubly important. We use the term to embrace not only the futures of human communication. Something that we all do every day in some way and with varying consequences. We apply the term also to communi- cation (meaning making) as the cognitive activity of constructing images of our futures and other realms of space-time, and thus ourselves and our worlds. The realm of human meaning, as construed, exchanged or negotiated, has been something most of us take for granted.
