摘要

The environmental pollution consists in the introduction of certain substances: solids, liquids or gases into the air, waters or soil, in such quantities or in such a composition that they can negatively affect the human health, the wildlife, the climate and the chemical constitution of soil. These contaminants lead to the excessive concentration of toxic substances in living organisms. The aim of this work is to confirm the anomalies detected earlier in the cooccurrence of metals in the osseous tissue. The object of the research was to examine samples of the femur head with diverse degenerative and deforming lesions of the hip joint which were obtained from some inhabitants of several cities in Upper Silesia. The content of the chosen elements (Cr, Ni, Mn, Cu, Cd, Zn, Fe, Pb, Ca, Mg, Na, K) has been determined by means of the atomic absorptive spectropho-tometry method (ASA) by means of a Pye Unicam SP-9 spectrometer in the acetylene and air flame. The results proved that sex is a major factor which determines the kind of interaction of metals with elements of the physiological importance. The biggest number of the interactions of elements of the physiological character was observed in the trabecular bone, which proves a large metabolic activity of this tissue.
