The Netherlands has committed to providing 3,100 troops to the NATO Alliance's rapid response force in 2008. These troops will be involved in the 25,000-strong NATO force for six months while it is under Dutch and German command. The Netherlands will also provide a mine-clearing vessel, a supply ship, 12 F-16 fighter jets, two Patriot anti-missile systems, a battalion of engineers, a field hospital, and a reconnaissance battalion.
