Chicago's magnificent skyline has numerous landmarks: the Tribune Tower, the Wrigley Building, the Aon Center and the Sears Tower. The one I find most meaningful is Johnson Publishing's headquarters on Michigan Avenue. Erected in 1971, the building remains both an impressive structure and the only Chicago skyscraper built by an African-American. Company founder John H. Johnson, one of the greatest entrepreneurs of the 20th century, died Aug. 8 at 87.
