When the cliffside-and-beachfront resort Arenas Del Mar opened in November of last year, white-faced monkeys took to the pool, splashing around in the shallow end. They've since ceded ground to the guests, cavorting and grinning from the surrounding trees. Their intelligent, curious faces are a delight-just one of the benefits of this 38-room resort's secluded rain-forest setting. Another is the view from the perched guest suites and pool deck; sunsets over the Pacific Ocean are a gaudy thrill.
