Nouriel Roubini is a world-renowned economist, an NYU professor and the chairman of Roubini Global Economics. But he is also known as "Dr. Doom" by many because he accurately predicted the financial crisis in 2007. He recently coauthored Crisis Economics: A Crash Course in the Future of Finance, which proposes extensive and far-reaching financial reform. The last time I spoke with Nouriel, he advised staying on the sidelines until a more robust and consistent recovery began. Now, as the U.S. economy slowly improves, he remains cautious. Although he no longer foresees a double-dip recession, he anticipates slower than normal growth in the coming years.
