Noticing that social gaming was missing the biggest game of all-sports-Ramsey, 34, founded Fanhood in 2011. The platform lets sports nuts compete in pools, talk trash and make virtual-money bets on real-time college and professional games. Players connect with strangers and friends through Facebook and mobile apps. Currently still in beta, Fanhood has 40,000 registered users and plans to generate revenue from virtual goods (betting chips), advertising and sponsorships. Current investors include First Round Capital, Mayfield Fund and Foundation Capital.
