In August, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was among the heads of state who attended the funeral of President John Evans Atta Mills in Accra, Ghana. The passing of the popular leader shook a country that has enjoyed an enviable run of otherwise good news during the past decade. But this tragedy revealed how far Ghana has come compared to many of its neighbors.
