Investors looking to get rich off the growth in LED cities don't have a lot of ideal options (and may need an offshore broker to buy relevant stocks). Global conglomerates such as Philips, GE and Samsung are conservative indirect plays, but some of the pure plays have had bumpy rides of late, because of rapidly falling component prices and competition from China, where most LED chips are made.
