Building a Better Future Together

Sustainable development is at the heart of Pemex's plan to develop the oil reserves of the Chicontepec Basin. As part of its current corporate social responsibility strategy, Pemex is dedicated to reducing its environmental impact, promoting socioeconomic development and managing production risks. Through its new, more culturally focused efforts, Pemex is focusing on long-term, preventive policies. Pemex is implementing an action plan with municipal authorities, in line with the Federal Development Plan, that includes finance for sustainable projects and infrastructure work to benefit and better connect local people. Three key areas have been identified: recovering abandoned assets, working toward zero emissions and community development.
