Relating foot morphology and plantar pressure in shod and barefoot populations

摘要

The human foot, as the primary interface with our external surroundings, varies greatly in anatomical morphology and biomechanical function. Previous studies revealed foot morphologies of different shoe-wearing habits, ethnicities and pathological conditions (D'Aout, Pataky, De Clercq, & Aerts, 2009; Hillstrom et al., 2013; Mootanah et al., 2013; Shu et al., 2015; Xiang et al., 2018). Knowing the relation between foot morphology and plantar pressure distribution during locomotion will greatly help in the development of customized footwear for different populations.
