Microwavable foods are changing, thanks to consumers' increasing time pressure, nutritional awareness, and desire for foods that taste and smell like they were cooked in a conventional oven. To meet these demands, food processors are creating a new generation of microwavable items for use at home as well as away from home, via convenience-store or office microwave. In many cases, the products' success hinges on a combination of product reformulation and package redesign.
