Inflation rate moderates, up 1.33% from last year

The monthly FSD Market Basket Index inched up 0.06% from last month, the third monthly increase this year. On a year-to-date (YTD) basis the FSD Market Basket Index of wholesale prices through May is at 9312.51, up 1.33% from last year. In addition, the seafood market is down sharply from last year as prices on the year-to-date FSD wholesale price index are at 775.00, up 1.91%. The YTD average price index for frozen food is at 1161.55, up 2.12% from last year. The latest cold storage report shows freezer stocks of frozen fruits are up 5%; vegetable inventories are up 12%.
