In today's competitive labor market, "recruitment" means more than running classified ads and posting job listings on the cafeteria bulletin board or even on the Internet. Savvy companies know that building a strong labor pool from which to draw is part of a larger strategy that involves selling potential hires on the merits of working in non-commercial foodser-vice in general and, more specifically, working for their particular companies. "It's a cultural thing," says Bonnie Scott, vice president of staff development for Cura Hospitality. "Recruiting new employees is part of the whole training and development process. You have to convince potential employees that they want to work for you."
