Food inspectors found 'filthy, slimey' equipment at Stockton sandwich shop

Raw meat was washed in the same sink as equipment at a Stockton sandwich shop, a court heard. And untrained staff at Colours Sandwich Shop, on Norton Road, handled bread buns straight after touching raw eggs -- without washing their hands. Abdul Alasadi appeared at Teesside Magistrates' Court accused of failing to keep his food premises clean. Inspectors from Stockton Council found food storage areas were greasy and in a “wholly unacceptable condition”, said Michelle Stowe, prosecuting for the authority.
