A court has quashed an appeal by a former takeaway owner against his food safety convictions – and tripled thernamount he has to pay in fines in the process.rnMahmud Salam, the owner of the former Lime Tree Takeaway that was branded as ‘filthy’ by environmentalrnhealth officers now has to pay £9,573, up from £3,025 when originally convicted in October. When inspectorsrnvisited the takeaway on Carisbrooke Road in Gosport in December 2015 they found what civic chiefs haverndescribed as one of the worst inspections they had ever seen.
