Global demand for packaging machinery is projected to rise 4.7% annually until 2014 to $35.9 billion, with rapid population growth and industrialisation of developing countries as amongst its major drivers. For the past five years, the average annual growth rate of China's packaging industry has been around 18%, whilst the output value reached 1.3 billion in 2011. Those figures show that China has become the second-largest packaging country after the United States.
