Swiss maker to buy spices specialist

Swiss flavour maker Givaudan is to acquire US-based Spicetec Flavors & Seasonings from ConAgra Foods in a £230M ($340M) deal. Spicetec offers a range of flavours, spices and savoury seasonings, primarily in North America. The transaction is expected to add approximately £125M ($185M) to Givaudan's annual sales. Gilles Andrier, chief executive of Givaudan, said: "This acquisition fits with our 2020 strategy to expand our offering to deliver integrated solutions where flavour and taste play a key role.
