The finalists in the bakery category offer some fierce yet diverse competition. There's Alcester's Fatherson Bakery, which champions a homemade, artisanal approach to cakes. Then there's own-label supplier Finsbury Food Group, which has built a highly successful business with the top supermarkets and emerged as winner in this category last year. High street retailer Greggs, with its vertically integrated supply chain, needs little introduction. Having made a big splash earlier in the year with the launch of its vegan sausage roll, it plans to continue pursuing the vegan trend. Finally, Stoke-on-Trent-based Wrights Pies, maker of savoury pastries and pies, prepared meals and sandwiches is riding high after posting double-digit sales and profit growth in 2018.
